Insomniac Games has unveiled a new trailer for Marvel's Wolverine, making it clear that the game will be far more violent than many fans expected.
The trailer showcases new campaign footage, familiar X-Men characters, and a deeper look at the game's combat system.
One of the biggest highlights is the appearance of Jean Grey, who joins Wolverine on missions against the Reavers, a group responsible for capturing mutants on behalf of industrialist Bolivar Trask.
In the story, mutants unite to form Team X, a resistance movement created to fight the growing persecution of their kind.
After years away from the conflict, Logan decides to return and help the cause.
But what truly stands out is the action.
The trailer features Wolverine using his claws in a much more aggressive and visceral combat style, delivering intense attacks, launching enemies through the air, and engaging in brutal close-quarters battles.
The footage also shows visible battle damage and blood effects throughout combat encounters, giving the game a noticeably darker tone than previous Marvel titles.
Beyond combat, Marvel’s Wolverine will include stealth mechanics, chase sequences, and environmental interactions.
Players will be able to destroy obstacles, manipulate objects in the environment, and use their surroundings to gain advantages against enemies.

Finally, the studio revealed that Marvel's Wolverine will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026.
